In a recent Nature Materials article, our Co‑Founder Christoph Gruber together with colleagues from Ludwig‑Maximilians‑Universität München presented a method to characterize individual perovskite nanocrystals in situ and at high throughput. The approach combines precise optical size determination with photoluminescence quantum‑yield measurements for thousands of nanocrystals within minutes.
The study shows that materials are rarely uniform at the nanoscale. By measuring each particle separately, we uncovered a substantial spread in performance that would be lost in bulk measurements. This rapid, scalable analysis enables a direct link between structure and function for individual nanocrystals.
